Embroidery is an art form that takes time. And when March 2020 found me quarantining in rural Illinois, I discovered that time was a commodity I had a lot of.

Embroidering Vincent became my passion project—over the next two years, whenever life was hard (or I was bored), I would reach for my denim jacket, thread, and reference photo, and begin to stitch.

Though I may add more to the jacket later, I’ve decided that my newest piece of wearable art is finished—for now.

...I feel there is nothing more truly artistic in life than to love people.
— Vincent van Gogh, in a letter to his brother Theo
